Taqat ‘s purpose
The purpose is to enhance the capacity of community-based workers through equipping them with relevant organizational and assessment tools, and sensitizing them towards the specific contextual factors that could affect their work while addressing the development issues in Lebanon in general and in its South in particular.

Rationale
Considering the huge consequences of the current crisis that invades the region, combined with the fact that the area may be exposed to further emergency situations where entire communities are vulnerable, it has learned that we must continue building our preparedness capabilities. In this context, many training activities are underway to upgrade the skills of our teams. Situation mapping is under continuous updating as well.

Proposed participants are generally committed individuals who are practitioners in the civic spheres, but need to shape their techniques in term of engagement and participation. Furthermore, they have repeatedly suffered from war and violent activities and witnessed the disintegration of their societal organizations. An exceptional effort is required to build institutional capacities and to create opportunities for community-based processes of re-organization.

Through interaction with representatives of several Community-Based Organizations, ISF envisages to improve its visibility for the role it is fulfilling, and to increase its awareness of the situation of the marginalized groups within the community where it works. The dialogue generated should inspire the designers and be a means of gaining insight into community needs and aspirations.

Participant Selection
Criteria used to select participants are based on the following:

I. The global assessment of training needs, affected at the beginning of the scholar year;
II. The individual self-appraisal;
III. The employee’ performance;
IV. The supervisor’s notes;
V. The feedback of the students and their parents (or/ patients), and their notes on the quality of services.
