Rihab Zahraa Scouts in Lebanese Army and Unifil Open Day

In commemoration of the 74th anniversary of the Lebanese Army, Rihab Zahraa scouts participated in the open day between the army and UNIFIL forces organized by the Litani Sector Command in the Lebanese Army in Tyre, under the patronage of Army Commander General Joseph Aoun represented by Major General Milad Isaac.
The open day included various stations, sports and recreational activities in which the girls participated, in addition to touring the place.
Among the attendees during the official opening was Mr. Nijad Charafeddine, General Director of Imam Sadr Foundation, in addition to political, military and civic dignitaries.
"Al-Yasmine 3" Summer Camp

For the third consecutive year, Imam Sadr Foundation launched a summer camp for displaced Syrians called “Al Yasmine”. It was located in the town of Aita al-Shaab for children between 7-15 years. The camp started on Saturday 24 / 08 / 2019
and continued until Saturday 31/8/2019 followed by similar activity for the same age group in the town of Seddiquin from Tuesday 3/9/2019 until Tuesday 10/9/2019. The activities of the camps are part of the project to promote the positive values of displaced Syrians and residents implemented by Imam Sadr Foundation in cooperation with the Mennonite Central Committee – MCC
The activity package included: recreation, improving life skills, sports, drama, and manual skills.
Officers of the Chinese Battalion at the Cultural Compound

Colonel Gao Shauning, Commander of the Chinese Battalion working with UNIFIL, visited the Cultural Compound accompanied by a delegation from the battalion. GD Nijad Charafeddine welcomed his guests and praised the UNIFIL’s cooperation with the people of the South in several fields, and introduced them to the foundation’s work and its contributions to social development and women’s empowerment.
Colonel Shauning expressed his happiness for this meeting opportunity and to witness the humanitarian and social work happening at the foundation.
After that, the delegation visited the Basic Education building and delivered gifts to the children of Rihab Zahraa Orphanage.
Graduation at Afak for Development Institution

Imam Sadr Foundation celebrated the graduation of new groups of students at Afak for Development Institution in its different branches. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Rabab Sadr, President of the Union of Municipalities of Tyre Engineer Hassan Dbouk, and a number of associations, employees, graduates and their families, teachers, and some local figures.
The ceremony included verses from the Qur’an, the Lebanese national anthem, and the anthem of Sadr Foundation, then a speech by GD Nijad Charafeddine, then some of the graduates of the Nursing School spoke about their experience at the institution and the battlefield of life. Then speech by Engineer Hassan Dbouq.
Finally, the graduates received their certificates.
The ceremony was introduced by the two students Fatima Amer and Ibtisam Mhannah.

Honoring the Lebanese Diaspora

Imam Sadr Foundation held a dignified gathering for the Lebanese Diaspora in appreciation of their continuous support for the foundation as well as the Lebanese society through its several crises. The guests were received by the Chairperson, Ms. Rabab Al-Sadr, the GD Mr. Nijad Charafeddine and other members and friends.
During the ceremony, Mrs. Rabab Sadr said: “We are unable to continue without your contributions, and we could not bear the staying without the renewed promise of meeting you every summer or at every opportunity. This is the hope that fills every Lebanese family with love and safety”. Then she called on all the visitors to tour the foundation premises in Tyre, Beirut, or the villages of South Lebanon.
The Special Consultant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Joe Rahal, praised the work done by the foundation and thanked the Lebanese diaspora for their support to the civil society organizations so that Lebanon remains a country of solidarity.
The poet Ms. Zeinab Akil introduced for the event. The program included artistic and musical performances, an exhibition of the foundations handcrafts and a village dinner.

Officers of the Italian Battalion at the Cultural Compound

Colonel Mario Siora, Commander of the Italian Battalion working with UNIFIL and its Mansouri headquarters, visited the Cultural Compound in Tyre on Tuesday morning (18 June 2019), accompanied by the Responsible Officer Giuseppe Calderoni, the Commander of the Military Police in Shamaa Captain Petro Calabro, and the Responsible for Gender in the Western Sector, Elena Napolitano.
Ms. Rabab Sadr welcomed her guests and praised the cooperation of UNIFIL with the people of the South in several fields.
Colonel Siora expressed his happiness for this meeting opportunity and having the chance to witness the humanitarian and social work at the Foundation.
After that, the delegation toured the handmade carpet atelier, the silver workshop and other facilities.
Lassen and Ezzedine Visited the Cultural Compound

EU Ambassador to Lebanon Christina Lassen and MP Dr. Inaya Ezzedine visited the Cultural Compound of Imam Sadr Foundation. Mr. Nijad Charafeddine and Mr. Mohammad Bassam welcomed the guests. An overview of the foundation and its contribution to social development and women empowerment was provided.
The visitors also toured some facilities, especially carpet hand-woven workshop and silver atelier.
