In the presence of delegates from Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), Ms. Fatima Bin Sayeh and Ms. Nicole Maillard, the BootCamp completed its activities for the year 2018 with a training session on Performance Appraisal. The ceremony was attended by 25 participants who completed TOT training on Thursday, 15 November 2018, SADR Foundation headquarters. The winners of the camp activities, which lasted several days during September and October, were announced. More than 100 workers and social activists participated.
It should be noted that the capacity building program organized by the Taqat Center is supported by the CLFI in Lebanon and the MCC.

Encountering and Discussing Opportunities for Cooperation
Wednesday, November 14, 2018: A delegation of Imam Sadr Foundation lead by Mr. Nijad Charafeddine visited the branch of the Lebanese German University in Jounieh to discuss possible partenrship opportunities within the domains of academics and research for the benefit of students and society. Research topics included provision of social health centers, raising community awareness towards certain health issues and practices, and providing easier access to university studies for female students coming from institutions. It should be noted that the Faculty of Health at the Lebanese German University in Tyre has specialties in physical therapy, laboratory technology, nutrition and nursing, which are similar to Imam Sadr Foundation’s scope of work.

Col. Giacomo Giattanozio, commander of the Italian battalion operating within UNIFIL with its headquarters in Mansouri, visits the cultural complex in Tyre on Tuesday morning (November 6, 2018) where he is greeted by Mrs. Rabab Sadr and Mr. Nijad Charafeddine, Chairperson and Director General of the Foundation, respectively.

Mrs. Rabab Sadr welcomed her guests and noted the cooperation of UNIFIL with the citizens in various fields. She presented the vision of Imam Sadr and how it is projected in the current projects that concern the people and the values of cooperation which “we consider to be the main condition for success in building a better life.” She also looked forwards to having her guests explore new ways of technical support in handicrafts, to improve opportunities for women and young people to find work.

Col. Gianataizio said that Imam Sadr Foudnation is a pioneer in the area of its work and is known to everyone. He said that he was briefed on its programs and activities on the website and felt the desire to get acquainted with the humanitarian and social work aspect being done in this complex. After that, the visitor toured the educational and pastoral facilities, and was amazed by the features of happiness and satisfaction on the faces of children, which reflect the nature and essence of what is happening here.

Imam Sadr Foundation Commemorates the 40th Day of Imam Hussein’s (AS) Martyrdom

On the occasion of the 40th of Imam Hussein (AS), Imam Sadr Foundation held a religious memorial service, with Hassan Farhat as the reciter for prayers. The audience consisted of a number of partners, staff, and hundreds of students from all sections of cultural complex.

Verses from the Holy Quran were recited by the student Ala Dawood, and another student by the name of Ryan Kahloul hosted the event. The General Director, Mr. Nijad Charafeddine, emphasized in his speech the importance of spreading love and that all of our work is for the sake of God and humanity as a whole, as was the work of Imam Hussein (AS). “Imam Hussein’s goalwas to revive humanity, not a particular sect or religion.” The lesson of his influence is to follow his work in our daily lives and actions.
The event was followed by a lunch in the charity restaurant hall.

Delegates from Hammoud Hospital visit the Cultural Complex

Delegates from Hammoud Hospital visited the Cultural Complex of Imam Sadr Foundation on Tuesday morning on October 23rd. Mrs. Rabab Sadr welcomed and confirmed her willingness to further cooperate with them on all levels of health and social affairs. Discussions were held on relevant concerns and opportunities for joint community-based projects, including health education, awareness campaigns and training of nurses at the hospital.
A session was also held to discuss a joint work program with the Department of Health and Mental Health, including launching a breast cancer awareness campaign as of the 14th of November in 2018.
