Imam Sadr Foundation Commemorates the 40th Day of Imam Hussein’s (AS) Martyrdom

On the occasion of the 40th of Imam Hussein (AS), Imam Sadr Foundation held a religious memorial service, with Hassan Farhat as the reciter for prayers. The audience consisted of a number of partners, staff, and hundreds of students from all sections of cultural complex.
Verses from the Holy Quran were recited by the student Ala Dawood, and another student by the name of Ryan Kahloul hosted the event. The General Director, Mr. Nijad Charafeddine, emphasized in his speech the importance of spreading love and that all of our work is for the sake of God and humanity as a whole, as was the work of Imam Hussein (AS). “Imam Hussein’s goalwas to revive humanity, not a particular sect or religion.” The lesson of his influence is to follow his work in our daily lives and actions.
The event was followed by a lunch in the charity restaurant hall.

Delegates from Hammoud Hospital visit the Cultural Complex

Delegates from Hammoud Hospital visited the Cultural Complex of Imam Sadr Foundation on Tuesday morning on October 23rd. Mrs. Rabab Sadr welcomed and confirmed her willingness to further cooperate with them on all levels of health and social affairs. Discussions were held on relevant concerns and opportunities for joint community-based projects, including health education, awareness campaigns and training of nurses at the hospital.
A session was also held to discuss a joint work program with the Department of Health and Mental Health, including launching a breast cancer awareness campaign as of the 14th of November in 2018.
World Federation Delegation visiting SADR Foundation

A delegation from the World Federation of KSIMC visited Imam Sadr Foundation cultural complex to follow up on the progress of their joint projects and to discuss possible ways to promote their partnership towards far-reaching development fields.
The Word Federation delegation consisted of Ms. Madiha Raza, the Head of WF Aid, Ms. Zaynab Mirza, Project Coordinator, and Mr. Mohamed Baqir. From the Foundation, Ms. Rabab Sadr, Mr. Nijad Charafeddine, Mr. Mohammad Bassam, and other staff members welcomed the visitors and exchanged views about current situations and potentialities of deepening their cooperation.
Activist's Work Camp

Within the educational, cultural, and recreational activities that Imam Sadr Foundation (ISF) organizes annually, it has held a cultural camp with the sponsorship from the Canadian Embassy on Friday September 28 and Saturday September 29 of 2018. The camp’s venue was on Imam Sadr Foundation’s campus with around 100 participants with an age range of 18 to 50. Around 85% of them were women who were ISF employees and others who were employees from other organizations.
This innovative approach to capacity-building was launched by the Human Resources Department. Mr. Waseem Al-Zein continued with the facilitators in preparing and presenting the activities.
Nine intellectual, educational, physical, and recreational activities were launched around the foundation’s campus that started from 9:00am to 3:00pm. With the help of 20 employees for the execution of the activities, 5 administrators from the head-office and 5 employees for the logistics, the camping activities were launched.
The following are the names of the activities and the facilitators:

3. Well-Being and Diet (Maya Ghorayeb, Zahraa Awada)

6. Le Nez Rouge (Master Trainer Abir Abd El-Reda)
7. Child Protection (Layan Charafeddine, Fatima Hamoud)
8. Energizer (Malak Houmani, Fatima Sbeiti, Samira Abboud)
9. Gender Based Violence (Mariam Hassan, Rania Abbass)
At the end of the program, photographs of the participants were taken with the trainers and supervisors of the cultural camp.
UNDP Delegation visits SADR Foundation

Within the cooperation framework between UNDP and Imam Sadr Foundation,
UNDP delegation visited the Foundation premises in Tyre. The delegation included Mr Leonidas Kioussis, General Director for Energy, Project Manager Hassan Harajli.
Mr. Nijad Charafeddine, the Director General and Mr. Mohammad Nour El-Dine, the Director of Media and Communication Department, welcomed the visitors and accompanied them in a tour to inspect the installed photovoltaic system funded by Cedro Project- EU, and discussed further opportunities of cooperation.
