Mobile Medical Units

In line with Imam Musa Sadr’s belief in the connection between faith, action, and service, the Foundation is deeply committed to its journey, aiming at bridging the gaps in healthcare access, especially for those in remote areas lacking medical facilities, including the elderly and those unable to travel.

The first mobile clinic was launched in 1990, in collaboration with the International Medical Corps (IMC), and is affiliated with the Chehabiyeh Primary Healthcare Center. Currently, it focuses on addressing the needs of internally displaced persons, due to the conflict that erupted in the South on October 8, 2023. The clinic provides medical, nursing, and pharmaceutical services in locations such as Tyre Technical School, the German University, and Tyre National School-Al Hosh.

The second mobile clinic launched its operations in 2007, in partnership with the Knights of Malta – Lebanon, and covers around ten villages. These villages were selected based on field assessments and include towns like Houla, Al-Tyri, Aynata, Maroun Al-Ras, Markaba, Brayqi’, Adchit, Talloussah, Bani Hayyane, and others.

The services offered by this clinic are extensive, providing essential healthcare and support at the following levels:

  • Medical consultations and field nursing services, along with health awareness.
  • Providing essential medications according to medical conditions.
  • Monitoring and supporting social cases.
  • Implementing a referral system for hospital care, including financial coverage and networking with medical service providers.
