With a mother’s love and dedication to securing a better future for her daughter, and the pioneering efforts of the Imam Sadr Foundation in providing care, education, and empowerment for individuals with special needs, Nour overcame her hearing and speech difficulties. She is now a student in early childhood education, and aims to thrive as a proactive and contributing woman in her society.

Nour was born with a hearing problem. She had surgery to get a cochlear implant, which helped her hear better. Then, she took speech therapy, which improved both her hearing and speech. She went to a school in Beirut, but her condition made it too hard for her to pursue her studies there. When she decided to enroll in an institute to continue her education and qualify for work, she was refused admission because those in charge believed she needed a specialized institution.
Nour’s mother, determined to find a place that could support her daughter and pave the way for her future career, discovered the Al-Afaq Development Institute at Imam Sadr Foundation. She brought Nour there, marking the beginning of a journey filled with determination, hope, and success.
With the attention and care provided by the institute’s staff and teachers, along with her mother’s strong support during her studies, Nour started a new chapter in her life. She quickly adapted to the curriculum, integrated well with her peers, formed friendships, boosted her self-confidence, and earned a ‘Good’ grade in the official vocational intermediate diploma exams.

Today, Nour continues her studies at the Al-Afaq Development Institute, now in the technical baccalaureate stage. She aspires to graduate and enter the workforce with distinction.

Nour confidently and optimistically says, “I decided to specialize in special education because I love children.” She expresses her gratitude to the institute, her teachers, and fellow students for the tremendous support she has received.
