Early Childhood Intervention - ECIL

A Pioneering Model for Empowering Newborns with Special Needs

Every individual brings unique qualities that enhance the growth of their community. Challenges that hinder their ability to contribute can have far-reaching effects on society. Therefore, those around them must address these challenges with respect for their dignity, or the community risks losing valuable potential.

Aligned with Imam Musa Sadr’s social initiatives and his belief that society functions like a human body-where any disorder impacts the whole organism – the Foundation established the Early Childhood Intervention- Lebanon (ECIL) Center. This center is dedicated to supporting newborns with special needs and their families. It features a team of experts and specialists who use advanced techniques to develop the children’s potential and support their mothers, even before the children are born.

A Pioneering Center Addressing an Urgent Need

In June 2011, just before its golden jubilee celebration, the Imam Sadr Foundation inaugurated the ECIL Center as part of a series of initiatives introduced for the occasion. This center was created in response to a critical national need for focused services for newborns with special needs. Prior to its establishment, there were no adequate services available to support these children and their families, hindering their ability to fully integrate into society.

From its inception, the center has been committed to using the most advanced methodologies. It operates with a team of early childhood experts who apply the latest research in the field, all while respecting Lebanese culture and traditions.

Developing the Therapeutic Approach

The ECIL team firmly believes in an integrated and coordinated approach, effectively aligning the latest research and scientific findings in early childhood and early intervention with the realities faced by Lebanese families. This has led to the development of a range of programs that incorporate inclusive therapeutic approaches and evidence-based practices, all tailored to the unique characteristics of the community. These programs are delivered through the following services:

  • A service based on early childhood standards and characteristics.
  • A service based on integrative and collaborative work.
  • A service based on all developmental fields within the framework of self-regulation and the necessary care.
  • A service based on family empowerment and involvement in early intervention programs.
  • A service built on an individual family plan aligned with the needs of the family and the child, based on measurable goals.
  • A service based on empowering the family with the necessary skills to complete its journey in society.

It is worth mentioning that most of our treatment team is qualified and licensed to perform standardized and specialized assessment tests in early childhood. The programs are delivered through various innovative approaches, tailored to be integrated or individualized based on specific needs.
